Dr. Toni L. Bisconti
To engage in research that focuses on all adult identities in order to better understand the transitions and experiences that lead to resilience across time.
What We Do
Dr. Bisconti has done research on older adults for over 20 years. She's been published in the areas of resilience and successful aging numerous times in academic journals and has previously served on the Board of Hospice. A large portion of her work has focused on how older adults cope with transitions related to later adulthood, including, but not limited to, the loss of a spouse, experiences of ageism, and unique psychological mechanisms related to marriage equality. Toni has been a guest speaker at local high schools and the Center for the History of Psychology to discuss bullying and topics of diversity. Under the podcast tab, you can listen to her previous appearances on the Jasen Sokol show on WAKR.
